Kidney stones are small, hard deposits that form inside your kidneys. The stones are made of mineral and acid salts. Kidney stones have many causes and can affect any part of your urinary tract — from your kidneys to your bladder. Often, stones form when the urine becomes concentrated, allowing minerals to crystallize and stick together.

Kidney stones are small mineral deposits that form inside your kidneys. They are solid and hard, and are made up of calcium, oxalate, and uric acid. The stones break loose and our body then tries to pass them through our urine. Some stones are extremely small and you don’t even notice them; larger stones push into the ureters, which are the narrow ducts that lead to our bladder, and get stuck.
